Navigating Hormonal Changes with Care

Perimenopause is a phase that precedes menopause and typically occurs 8 to 10 years before menopause begins. For most women, this usually happens between the ages of 35 to 40.  During perimenopause, you may start to notice irregular menstrual cycles accompanied by a heavier flow and increased cramping.

It is during this time that the famous hot flashes and night sweats make their appearance, disrupting your sleep patterns. Waking up multiple times during the night due to these symptoms can leave you feeling exhausted and fatigued throughout the day.

Mood swings become a frequent companion, affecting both your personal and professional life. You might feel ecstatic on minute, only to suddenly become angry or burst into tears. Self-doubt creeps in, eroding your self-confidence which increases your stress and anxiety.

Weight gain is also a common occurrence during perimenopause. As women, we tend to store weight in our abdomen, thighs and upper arms, that will not go away no matter how hard we exercise and diet.

Menopause

Menopause is the shortest stage of hormonal change. It lasts only 12 months and is diagnosed after the end of the last menstruation. Menopause varies for each woman, but the average age range is 50 to 55 years old. After completing 12 consecutive months without menstruation, you are considered to have reached menopause. Some of the perimenopausal symptoms may continue as a natural part of aging.

Post Menopause

Post-Menopause brings forth a new set of symptoms resulting from a decrease of all sexual hormones such as estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. Women may experience vaginal thinning and atrophy, leading to painful sexual experiences. Frequent urinary tract infections and even urinary incontinence can also become a concern. Now a new concern for heart health and bone health is developing as the hormones that once protected women are no longer available.

Understanding these stages of aging and how they impact your body can be overwhelming. At Elite Sexual Hormone Health, I want women to know that natural options exist to restore optimal hormone levels. Reach out to Elite Sexual Hormone Health for a free consultation, and together we can embark on a journey toward your Elite Best Health, regaining control of your hormones and embracing a vibrant future.
